Kaitlin began practicing yoga in college at Ohio University 5 years ago, having had a sports background her whole life. After moving to California, she continued to venture down her new found yoga path practicing on and off, doing the free-week yoga hop from studio to studio. Kaitlin eventually landed at Ra's doorstep, finding her home. She quickly developed a consecutive practice and found mentor teachers who she looked up to and who had what she long to have in their own practice. After almost a year of dedicated practice, many long talks with her teachers and after seeing how yoga had transformed their lives along with being witness to the change in her own, Kaitlin decided that she wanted to give to others what was so beautifully given to her: yoga. Kaitlin found herself at White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara for her YTT and graduated with her 200+ hour certificate in August 2013. Since, Kaitlin has poured herself into strengthening her own practice and teaching to help others find the beauty in their own.
Favorite Yoga Move:
Supta Baddha Konasana-left hand on the heart, right hand on the belly with heels coming to touch. This demonstrates beautiful alignment of breath, marrying body and mind.
How Has Yoga Benefited You The Most:
Yoga has allowed me to strengthen the relationship I have with myself. I am able to sit and be still; I am comfortable in the body that sits with me. Yoga has allowed me to find beauty and love for others, most importantly for myself.
Reason Started Doing Yoga:
To find some sort of balance in my life. My hope is that in creating yoga on the mat, I can take it off the mat. It has helped me find a place where I can be free, where I am not afraid to express myself.
